storage/unauthorized

what this Firebase error means

How it shows up

Firebase Storage: User does not have permission to access '<path>'. (storage/unauthorized)

What it means

The user is not authorized to do the requested action on this file. The project's Cloud Storage Security Rules refused it.

The usual cause in an AI-built app

AI-built upload features often save files to a shared path like uploads/<file>, while the storage rules only allow writes under the signed-in user's own folder, or the upload runs before the user is signed in.

Check this first

Open the Storage Rules tab in the Firebase console and check which rule matches the exact path shown in the error message.
